Over the hill - and then which way? Satnav comes to the Zimmer Frame

Their legs aren't what they used to be and nor, sadly, is their memory. But now one nursing home thinks it has the hi-tech answer to help its elderly residents get around more easily - a satnav device for their Zimmer Frames.

Residents of the Betuweland nursing centre in the Dutch village Bemmel have been trying out the new navigation system for their frames for several months.

How can design contribute to keep our health in everyday life.

The number of doctors in Japan is about 290,000 of the 2005.
The number is absolutely insufficient compared with the average in the advanced country.
In the reality, as the solution of doctor shortage, it is the fact that it is depending on exceeding at working hours of each individual doctor, a high sense of mission and the effort of the individual medic.
The present age medicine has turned into the religion. People are blindly overconfident in the medical treatment, and worshiping this. People take medical treatment as the only god to save our lives.
There is a surprising report in 1976. The doctor came out on strike of 52 days in capital Bogota in Colombia, and all did not treat excluding the emergency medical care.
As a result, the mortality rate has decreased for the period of the strike by 35%. A considerably similar example has reported by Los Angeles and Israel.
If unnecessary treatment is not done to the slight illness patient, the report means the doctor can concentrate on the life rescue.
If we can care for our health in daily life, such a severe environment for the doctor might be able to be improved. Of course, it will become our own profit.

In the city, we do not put things around which can no be controlled. We afraid of facing nature which can not be controlled as you want.
We live by excluding nature completely from surroundings. However, people call for nature.

Of course, natural-perspective that we have might be different for each. It depends environment where we grew up, culture, religion, memory and so on.
For instance, for me who grew up in Japan, the scenery of the town with the utility pole and the one of the coast with the tetra jar is natural.
